Robert N. Caldwell letters, 1946-1969.

Collection of 362 autograph and typewritten letters written to Caldwell by Prof. Mark Van Doren. This exceptionally long and intimate series of letters deals with many subjects of interest to the two writers, including literature, journalism, philosophy, politics, and various events of the day. In addition, there are carbon copies of Mr. Caldwell's letters coverning the same period, and numbering more than 700 pages.
